Happy Holidays! I hope you are snuggled up by the couch and getting your knit on after all the festivities yesterday.
Even though we have only 5 days left of 2019, I wanted to squeak in one more pattern for you: The Duality Scarf! My last pattern of the year, and this one is near and dear to me because: It’s designed after my mom.

If don’t you know, my mother Dorothy is a huge role model in my life. She’s strong, she’s resilient, she’s caring, she’s doting and she’s got one bangin’ sense for fashion. Though she may not know it, her style is a very big influence in how I design and create for Knitatude.
A bit about my mom: My mother is polished. She always looks amazing and you can expect to see her in the most stunning outfit whenever you bump into her. She’s like an Audrey Hepburn. She wears a lot of black, white and grey and lives for classic styles with finished lines. Basically - my mother is a walking ad for Banana Republic and I am here. For. It.
5 years ago, she found this stunning machine made scarf and used to wear it everywhere. I have been in love with it ever since, and I wanted to transform it into a hand knit version with my own personal twist, and that’s how the Duality Scarf was born.
DETAILS
Welcome; the Duality Scarf. This pattern is stunning because of its simplicity. It’s two stitches that interweave together, each complimenting and contrasting each other. It can be worn as a regular scarf (Watch out, your husbands will steal it!), or seamed as I did to make a circle scarf.
THE YARN
Back in March I got the lucky chance to got to Purl Soho during my trip for the LionBrand Blogger Bash. I fell in LOVE with their yarn as so many other do too, so I knew I wanted to use it for this design. I used three balls of their Cashmere Merino Bloom in Wheat flour, knowing that I wanted it to be crazy soft, have a great drape, still bulk up, but have a color that would show off the stitches. Guys… this is the most luxurious scarf I have ever made. That being said, if you want some yarn subs, I have them below in the post!

3 skeins of Purl Soho Cashmere Merino Bloom or approximately 598m/654yds of another Dk or light worsted weight yarn, category 3 • Size US 8/5mm needles • 1 Stitch marker • Scissors • Darning needle
