DESCRIPTION
Wanting to pay an homage to love, the Tesoro Sweater (which means “sweetheart” in Italian) is delicate, feminine and classic. Making this a top perfect for date nights with your special someone. Knit for the majority in the round, this sweater has roughly 2.25-4.25 inches of negative ease designed in. Making it perfect to accentuate your curves. Knit bottom up and with a seamless three-needle-bind off at the shoulders, this pattern includes ribbing, short rows (which create the signature sweetheart neckline), classic stockinette and an icord for a polished finish.
This pattern is written in nine sizes – XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). It is suggested that you highlight your size, so you know which stitch count to follow. Model pictured is wearing the size M and is 5’7”, 152 pounds. She has a bust of 36.5” in circumference, for reference.
How to choose your size: Find your bust measurements below. and knit the size according to it.SIZESXS – 28-30” bust

M – 36-38” bust
L – 40-42” bust
XL – 44-46” bust
2XL – 48-50” bust
3XL – 52-54” bust
4XL – 56-58” bust
5XL – 60-62” bust
Pattern has been tested in all sizes except for 5X. If you would like to test that size and have a bust of 60-62", please send me an email at knitatude@gmail.com.
DIFFICULTY
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate. You will need to know how to cast on, knit and purl stitch both flat and in the round, increase, decrease, german short row, bind off, icord bind off.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- 3 (XS, S), 4 (M, L), 5 (XL, 2X, 3X), 6 (4X, 5X) skeins of Lion Brand Superwash Merino (pictured in Antique) or 815 (915, 1050, 1120, 1280) (1430, 1525, 1675, 1840) yards to 745 (837, 960, 1024, 1170) (1308, 1394, 1532, 1682) meters of size 3 DK weight yarn
- Size US 6/4mm knitting needles 24”/60cm circular needles (4+5XL may benefit from 32”/82cm)
- Size US 5/3.75mm knitting needles 24”/60cm circular needles (for icord)
- Size US 5/3.75mm Double Pointed Needles (for sleeves)
- 2 stitch markers
- Scissors
- Darning needle
